Nagaraj Hanumant Vannuri from Hosa Vantamuri village drowned in a lake while bathing buffaloes on Saturday.
The 17-year-old led his animals to the lake. He was bathing the buffaloes when he slipped, fell into the lake and died.
His friends and farmers in nearby fields tried to rescue him but they could not. The body was pulled out of the water later.
A case has been registered.
