A woman was arrested for allegedly killing her husband by beating him up with a stick and trying to pass it off as a natural death. The victim has been identified as Bhaskar, 42, a resident of Sadduguntepalya.
Bhaskar was reported to have died in his sleep on June 27. His wife Shruthi, 32, claimed he was an alcoholic, who came home drunk the previous night, went to sleep, and was dead when she tried to wake him up in the morning.
The police had filed a Unnatural Death Registry report and got an autopsy done. Shruthi and family members performed the last rites.
However, the autopsy report revealed that Bhaskar died of a head injury he suffered due to an assault with a blunt object. Following this, the police detained Shruthi and during interrogation, she reportedly confessed to have beaten him up with a wooden stick.
