Congress MP from Warangal Dr. Kadiyam Kavya on Friday praised the State government for issuing orders to release ₹205 crore for land acquisition to facilitate the construction of Mamnoor Airport at Warangal.
This significant move marks a crucial step towards realising the long-standing aspirations of residents of Warangal for a fully operational airport, she said in a statement.
She said the Congress government’s proactive efforts in advancing the airport project will boost Warangal’s development.
She highlighted that the State government had already secured clearance from the Central government to overcome the technical hurdle of the 150-km radius restriction.
The MP further said, “The release of funds further underscores the government’s commitment to the project. This is a historic milestone in Warangal’s journey towards progress.”
She urged the Union Ministry of Civil Aviation to take immediate action in response to the State’s initiative to expedite the project.
The Mamnoor Airport, once completed, is expected to enhance connectivity and drive economic growth in the region, cementing Warangal’s position as a key hub with historical and cultural significance, she remarked.
