UGCET: Option entry date extended

UGCET: Option entry date extended

Due to a server issue that has been going on for the past two days, Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has extended the ‘option entry’ date for professional courses, including engineering and others, from July 15 to 18.

“Although the server issue is returning to normal, the option entry date for UGCET has been extended to July 18 in the interest of the candidates,” a statement issued by KEA executive director H. Prasanna said on Friday.

This extension has been made considering the slight delay in logging in and making option entries due to server issues. Candidates expecting seats for engineering, veterinary medicine, and animal Husbandry, agricultural science, B.P.T. allied health science courses should use this opportunity to complete this process without any worry, the statement said.

Candidates should prepare the list of colleges and courses in order of priority (college code and course code) on a white paper in advance and then enter the option entry on the portal. This will avoid a large number of candidates keeping the portal active for a long time at once; it will also make the portal easier for other candidates, it said.

The announcement also said that a reminder message will be sent to all candidates regarding the resumption of the selection entry portal. The revised schedule of first round seat allocation has been advised to visit the website and note it.

He also, said that the mock seat allocation results will be out on July 21 and the final results on July 28.

Following the server crash, the officials of Karnataka State Data Centre held a series of meetings with KEA authorities on Friday to discuss the issue.

Medical courses document verification

Candidates who have registered for UGNEET-2025 after July 7 and paid the fee (those who have claimed seats from ‘A’ to ‘O’ and ‘Z’ class) have been asked to appear at KEA head office in Bengaluru between July 17 and 19 for verification of all original documents for admission to medical, dental, ayurveda, homeopathy and unani courses.

The schedule for those who have claimed under special categories, specially abled candidates, and those who have claimed under ‘A’ to ‘O’ and ‘Z’ class to appear for document verification has been published on the KEA website, and the details of the original documents to be submitted for verification have been given during the UGCET itself. It has been clarified that candidates should read.

Kannada language test

It has also been informed that the Kannada language test will be held on July 17 from 3.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. at the Bengaluru centre for newly registered Horanadu and Gadianadu Kannada candidates.
