Karan Johar’s hosted brand new reality show The Traitors had the audience hooked with its fresh format and interesting choice of contestants. In a recent interaction, fashion critic and popular social media influencer Sufi Motiwala shared some spoilers from the show while also talking about his equation with fellow influencer Apoorva Makhija and how their initially strained relationship turned into a friendship.
Speaking to Pinkvilla, Sufi admitted that just like the eliminations of Raj Kundra and Karan Kundrra shocked the audience, the following eliminations too would surprise viewers. He said, “Spoiler alert, you are not ready for episode 5 and episode 6. Those eliminations are the real gags.” He also mentioned the episodes that will see the most drama. He added, “Episodes 5, 6 and 8 are the episodes to look forward to. One contestant also gets a funeral. It happens in either the 5th, 6th or 8th episodes.”
Sufi defends Karan Kundrra
Sufi, however, called Karan’s elimination unfair and shared that there were many technical issues on the day of his eviction. Karan was evicted within the first three days of the show. According to him, Karan was innocent and wasn’t able to properly express himself and failed to convince his fellow contestants. “When Karan’s eviction was happening, there was also a technical malfunction that happened, which resulted in him not really being able to speak his whole part. This resulted in him not taking a stand for himself,” he said.
Sufi on love and hate relationship with Apoorva Makhija
Sufi and Apoorva were also at loggerheads in the beginning of the show, but they soon warmed up to each other and became friends. Sufi disclosed that Apoorva had admitted to not liking him in front of Karan Johar, and that affected his mindset and made him feel he “wasn’t ready” for the show.
Sufi shared that the atmosphere on set was very emotional, as the contestants were living together in a vast palace in Jaisalmer. Each day, two contestants would get evicted, and the vibe remained tense throughout. He explained that he and Apoorva bonded over their personal traumas and eventually decided to stick with each other.
Sufi didn’t get along with Uorfi
Despite both Sufi and Uorfi having made a name in the fashion space, they didn’t get along with each other on the show. The fashion critic admitted the same and said, “I think me and Uorfi (Uorfi Javed) entered the show with no bond and me and Uorfi left the show with no bond.”
