The Lokayukta police conducted search operations across the State on the offices and residences of five government officials and seized disproportionate assets worth ₹24.4 crore.
Based on complaints, several teams of the Lokayukta police carried out raids at 25 places in Bengaluru, Chitradurga, Hassan, and Chikkaballapura simultaneously, and seized movable and immovable properties which are disproportionate to their known source of income.
The accused government officials have been identified as K. Omprakash, Senior Assistant Director of Horticulture, Bangalore Development Authority, with estimated disproportionate assets worth ₹6.2 crore; N. Venkatesh, Tax Assessor of Shettyhalli subdivision, BBMP, with disproportionate assets worth ₹2.5 crore; Venkatesh G., Taluk Health Officer of Hiriyur, Chitradurga district, with disproportionate assets worth ₹3.5 crore; Jayanna R., Executive Engineer of National Highway Hassan Division, with disproportionate assets worth ₹6.2 crore; Anjaneya Murthy. M, Junior Engineer of Rural Drinking Water and Sanitisation Department, Gauribidanur taluk, Chikkaballapur district, with disproportionate assets worth ₹5.7 crore.
