A series of raids were carried out by Lokayukta police in the district on Friday following complaints against staff seeking bribes for issuing e-khata for properties.
Sources said the Lokayukta raided five zonal offices of the MCC apart from three town panchayat offices in the taluk. This included Srirampura, Bogadi, and Ramanahalli town panchayats; the Lokayukta officials not only quizzed the staff but also examined the documents.
There have been a plethora of complaints over the deliberate delay in the issue of e-khata citing procedural issues while agents manage to procure the documents on payment of a “fee”, the sources added.
