A rally was taken out by the Left parties, to condemn the attacks on Palestine and Iran by Israel, from the RTC Complex to the Gandhi statue. The participants raised slogans calling upon the general public to oppose the attacks by Israel and express solidarity with the people of Palestine.
CPI State assistant secretary J.V. Satyanarayana Murthy, CPI(M) district secretariat member B. Ganga Rao called upon the public to oppose the capitalistic and tyrannical attitude of America. They said that the rally was organised in response to the call given by the Left parties to hold rallies across the nation to oppose the ‘genocide’ by Israel. They said that the war during the last 20 months had taken the lives of over 55,000 Palestinians. A majority of them were women and children.
They alleged that Israel had deliberately destroyed hospitals, refugee camps and vital installations. It had also attacked a vessel in the international waters. The leaders of the Left parties demanded immediate release of the international volunteers, who were taken captive by Israel. They condemned the USA for trying to fan wars among nations to further its own interests. They said that the Union government should express its solidarity with Palestine.
HRF leader V.S. Krishna, CPI(M) leaders P. Mani, Botta Eswaramma, V. Narendra Kumar and CPI district secretary Sk Rahaman were among those who participated.
