The high-octane sports drama film F1 is all set to release in theatres on June 27. Helmed by Joseph Kosinski, the film follows the classic trope of the veteran (Brad Pitt) and the rookie (Damson Idris) putting aside their differences in order to achieve glory. Javier Bardem, who plays the team principal of Idris and Pitt’s crew, recently talked about the film and how Pitt channelled his inner Tom Cruise and drove the intricate and complicated F1 cars himself. Just like Cruise, Bardem had nothing but praise for Pitt’s driving skills and also talked about his relationship with the actor on set.
In an appearance on the Tonight Show, Bardem shared his experience of working on the film and told Jimmy Fallon how it was working with Pitt for the first time. He said, “We knew each other very briefly, and we had to create this bromance, which with Brad is not that difficult. He had a harder time, I think, and he is so sweet and funny.”

He also talked about how Brad Pitt was juggling multiple roles at the same time and was still able to deliver on all of them. “He was acting, driving and producing all at the same time. He was in that F1 car for real, driving it at 180 mph (289 km/h) around all the racing tracks. He had to deal with so many things, and he always made sure that he was taking care of everyone else and was giving all the actors their time to shine and would take a backseat.” Bardem then proceeded to explain the plot of the movie to the audience and how actual F1 stars, including Lewis Hamilton, who is also producing the film, were helping them throughout the process. F1 stars like Lando Norris, Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez, among others, will be playing themselves in the film.
F1 has been directed by Joseph Kosinski, and the cast of the film includes Brad Pitt, Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Lewis Hamilton, and Simone Ashley.
