The Andhra Pradesh Joint Action Committee (AP JAC) Amaravati, along with the Contract and Outsourcing Employees Association, on Tuesday urged the government to address critical issues affecting nearly 2.5 lakh outsourcing staff in the State.
A delegation-led by AP JAC Chairman Bopparaju and General Secretary Palesetti Damodar Rao submitted a representation to Minister for Municipal Administration and Cabinet Sub-Committee Member on APCOS Ponguru Narayana.
Key demands included rectifying issues in APCOS operations, introducing a dedicated HR policy, framing special service rules similar to those for Anganwadi and ASHA workers, and providing increments based on seniority.
They also sought restoration of welfare schemes, 30 days of annual paid medical leave, and strongly opposed the return to private agency system due to its history of exploitation and financial irregularities.
The Minister assured the delegation that the Cabinet Sub-Committee would study the concerns carefully and reiterated the government’s commitment to safeguarding outsourcing employees rights.
He confirmed that APCOS would not be dismantled and welcomed future dialogue with employee associations to shape fair reforms.
