The Information Technology (IT) Hub earlier declared by Minister for Railways, Electronics and IT Ashwini Vaishnaw for Kozhikode city has become a pipe dream with no follow-up measures by the Centre for its speedy execution, M.K. Raghavan MP, has said.
Expressing disappointment over the “vague reply” he received recently to his question related to the status of the project to Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT Jitin Prasada in the Lok Sabha, Mr. Raghavan said fake promises would not be an acceptable trend, and that he would meet the Union Ministers directly for clarifications.
According to Mr. Raghavan, the reply he received from Mr. Prasada clarified that the Union government did not receive any proposal regarding the project from the State government. “It was Mr. Vaishnaw who made the declarations first during his visit to the Kozhikode Railway station in November 2024 and asked Railway officials to identify a convenient spot near the railway station to begin the work,” he said.
