Indian Railways cancels, diverts trains after fire accident near Tiruvallur


The Indian Railways has cancelled, diverted and short-terminated some trains after the fire accident in a goods train near Tiruvallur in the Chennai division on Sunday.

Eight express trains have been cancelled, five trains were diverted and eight trains were short-terminated.

Train No.20677, Chennai Central-Vijayawada, has been diverted via. Gudur, Train No.20678 Vijayawada – Chennai Central Vande Bharat has been diverted via Gudur. Train No.12296 Danapur – SMVT Bengaluru, Train No.22351 Patalipura – SMVT Bengaluru, Train No.12540 Lucknow Charbagh – Yesvantpur Junction and Train No.18189 Tatanagar – Enrakulam Junction has been diverted via. Gudur, Perambur, Melpakam Cabin.

As a precautionary and safety measure, all EMU local train services in the Chennai–Arakkonam section were temporarily suspended, said the railway officials in a release on Sunday.
