The Kerala High Court has directed the Alappuzha District Collector, the Deputy Director of Education, principal agricultural officers and the other stakeholders concerned to take immediate and long-term measures to resolve the waterlogging issue in the SNDP Higher Secondary School, Kuttanad.
A Division Bench of Chief Justice Nitin Jamdar and Justice Basant Balaji issued the directive while considering a suo motu petition that was initiated on receiving a letter from teachers and students of the school about how regular classes were being interrupted due to waterlogging.
The court had earlier directed the Collector to take up the issue with the officials concerned, following which a meeting was held and decisions taken.
