Govt. wasted public money by printing excess stickers for SC survey: Ashok

Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly R. Ashok has ridiculed the government for allegedly wasting 11 lakh stickers, worth ₹25 lakh, that were supposed to have been used for the just-concluded survey of the Scheduled Castes.

In a social media post on Friday, Mr. Ashok referred to media reports that the government had printed 35 lakh stickers at a total cost of ₹87 lakh through the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to create public awareness and also to confirm that the houses concerned had been surveyed. Of them, 11 lakh stickers have remained unused and would have to be dumped now as the survey has ended, the report had stated.

Mr. Ashok described this as an indication of corruption and misuse of taxpayers’ money. “The government is now getting ready to dump these unused stickers,” he said.
