The Central Water Commission (CWC) on Friday issued flood warning in Achankovil, Pamba and Manimala rivers in Pathanamthitta district of Kerala where water levels have been rising at dangerous levels. People living on the banks of these rivers have been advised to maintain high alert.

CWC has issued an orange alert for Achankovil river (Thumpamon station) and a yellow alert for Pamba (Madamon station) and Manimala (Kallooppara station).

Under no circumstances should people venture into these rivers or attempt to cross these rivers. People living close to the river banks should be on alert and they should be prepared to move to higher grounds if required, as and when directed by the authorities, CWC has said.
