The Chintoor Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) officials are on the alert in the wake rise in flood level in river Godavari downstream Bhadrachalam. The relief camps will be opened only after the first Godavari flood warning is issued at Bhadrachalam.
The inflow from Sabari and Sileru rivers is also on the rise, prompting the tribals to trek to the hilly areas in Chintoor, V. R. Puram and Kunavaram mandals in Alluri Sitarama Raju district. According to Godavari flood bulletin issued by the Irrigation department, the trend of water level is on the rise and nearly five lakh cusecs of inflow of flood water is expected by 8 p.m. on Saturday at Polavaram irrigation project.
