A 63-year-old farmer died in an elephant attack near his farm at Kadavanthi village near Balehonnur in Chikkamagaluru district on the evening of July 27.
It is the second such incident reported during the week.
Forest Department officials and the local police visited the spot.
A woman died in a similar incident at Bannur near Balehonnur on July 23 night.
The local people had staged a protest condemning the incident.
