BRS leaders condemn MLA Kaushik Reddy’s arrest

HYDERABAD

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders have condemned the ‘illegal’ arrest of the party MLA from Huzurabad P. Kaushik Reddy on his arrival from overseas at Shamshabad airport on Saturday and called it an autocratic act of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

In a statement, working president of the party K.T. Rama Rao alleged that the Chief Minister was harassing Mr. Kaushik Reddy with false cases as the latter had been questioning the irregularities of the Chief Minister, corruption of the ministers and excesses of the Congress leaders. Mr. Kaushik Reddy was slapped umpteen illegal cases over the last 18 months.

However, such acts would not deter the BRS leaders’ resolve to expose the Congress government’s failures and its involvement in corruption. Senior leader of BRS T. Harish Rao alleged that the Congress government was only focusing on political victimisation of the BRS leaders instead of paying attention to fulfilling the promises made. Despite such illegal arrests and victimisation, the BRS leaders would keep questioning the Congress government’s failures.

Party leaders S. Madhusudana Chary, B. Vinod Kumar, K. Eshwar and several others also condemned the arrest of Mr. Kaushik Reddy.
