Punganur MLA Peddireddi Ramachandra Reddy.
YSRCP Rayalaseema regional coordinator and Punganur MLA Peddireddi Ramachandra Reddy has accused the NDA government of harassing his son and Rajampet MP P.V. Midhun Reddy by arresting him in the liquor case.
“My son will clean from the case and prove the rulers wrong,” Mr. Ramachandra Reddy said while addressing the media at his camp office here on Sunday.
Mr. Ramachandra Reddy called it a case of political vendetta, and accused Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, HRD Minister N. Lokesh and Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan of hatching a conspiracy.
“The liquor scam case, in which he has no role whatsoever, will fall flat and Mr. Midhun will emerge clean,” he asserted.
Expressing anguish at the continued attack on his party members, and more particularly on him and his family, Mr. Ramachandra Reddy said the case against Mr. Midhun Reddy would leave an indelible scar on the image of Mr. Naidu.
“First, they targeted me in the Madanapalle files case, but failed to prove my involvement. Later, they accused me of encroaching upon forest and government lands, but that too fell flat. This time, they are targeting Mr. Midhun because of his proximity and close association to party chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy,” he said.
Referring to the “growing” people’s support to his party, he said, “We will bounce back soon.”
