Anantapur youth bag three National Jal Champion awards

Three youngsters from Anantapur and Sri Sathya Sai districts — Bisathi Bharath, B. Jeevan Kumar, and Kuruba Jaya Maruthi — were honoured with the prestigious National Jal Champion Awards by WaterAid India. The awards were presented at the WaterAid India headquarters in New Delhi by managing director of WaterAid International VK Madhavan.

These youth champions were recognised for their exceptional commitment and impactful work in the field of WASH — Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene. Their contributions include initiatives in water conservation, personal hygiene promotion, menstrual hygiene awareness, access to safe drinking water, and the creation and restoration of water bodies.

The efforts have not only brought change at the grassroots level but also inspired other young people to take up the cause of WASH. On the occasion, the three leaders called for a nationwide youth-led movement to promote WASH practices across all the States.
