The NDA government has taken more loans than the YSRCP regime, and it has pledged the Andhra Pradesh Mineral Development Corporation (APMDC)’s assets for bonds. It has given private parties access to exchequer which is unprecedented, alleged former Chief Minister and YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy alleged that debts have been mounting on the State government under the leadership of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu. The revenue deficit to GSDP has increased from 2.65% during the YSRCP reign to 3.61% in the NDA rule. The change was within one year, he added.
The State government borrowed more than ₹1,61,000 crore within a short span of one year, which had never happened in the history of the bifurcated Andhra Pradesh, he said. The fiscal performance of the State is also declining, he alleged.
