In a major step towards fostering creative economic growth in Andhra Pradesh, the Andhra Pradesh government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with two leading organisations—Tesseract, US Inc., and YouTube Academy India—to establish a Creator Academy in the State.
The MoU was formalised in the presence of Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education, IT, and Electronics, Nara Lokesh, during a special event held in Singapore on Tuesday (January 29, 2025).
Teja Dharma, President of Tesseract US Inc., Arjun Doraiswamy, Head of YouTube Academy India, and Katamneni Bhaskar, Secretary, IT Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh, signed the agreement.
As per the MoU, the A.P. Government will set up a Centre of Excellence dedicated to creative content development. Google will support the initiative by providing resources, technology, and expertise for curriculum and training modules, while Tesseract will oversee the physical infrastructure, management, and day-to-day operations.
The initiative aims to equip aspiring content creators with the necessary skills, knowledge, and tools to succeed in the rapidly evolving digital content industry. It also seeks to promote innovation within the creative economy and contribute to national economic growth.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Nara Lokesh emphasised that the primary goal of the partnership is to empower young creators and nurture next-generation digital talent from Andhra Pradesh.
