27-year-old woman ends life after falling prey to online scam


A 27-year-old woman was found dead at her residence in Tulsi Nagar of Kukatpally on the night of July 8 allegedly after losing money in an online work-from-home scam.

The deceased was identified as Ganga Anusha, a native of Palakollu, West Godavari. The KPHB Colony police said that she married Kaya Venkanna Babu, a software engineer, five years ago and the couple had been living in Hyderabad for some time.

Anusha’s family said that she had recently fallen victim to an online fraud scheme that promised income through remote work. She had not shared this information with anyone, and her family was unaware of the distress she was under.

A case was booked and further investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances that led the victim to take the drastic step.
